Women in the Wild
Interested in a nature encounter exclusively in the company of women? Where you can relax and be yourself, find ready fun and easy camaraderie, push your comfort envelope as much or as little as you wish, and learn from outstanding female naturalist guides, in the world's most wondrous wild places? That's what you'll find in our Women in the Wild series. (Scroll down to see our current departures.)
These adventures offer women the opportunity to explore nature in the company, congeniality and comfort of an all-women context. Our guests on these trips often tell us they feel more at ease in such a setting, especially when it comes to trying new things—whether that's snowshoeing or snorkeling or deluxe camping in brown bear territory.
Women in the Wild adventures are led by Nat Hab's top women Expedition Leaders and provide a chance to explore with local women who join us as regional guides and special guests. With a focus on building rapport and experiencing nature through a female lens, our itineraries have a special focus on the contributions of women in our destinations -- as pioneers, Indigenous leaders, rangers, researchers, conservationists, explorers, entrepreneurs, educators and more. Empowering women begins with sharing their stories. And there’s no better context in which to show and tell those stories than by taking inquisitive female travelers into settings where they can learn about women's accomplishments as they walk in other women’s footsteps.
Throughout our experience together, we'll learn about the integral roles women have played in understanding and protecting nature. As WWF’s conservation travel partner, we are acutely aware that sustainable local communities are essential to preserving nature—and women from Africa to the Arctic carry the torch for protecting environments that sustain not only their families, but also endangered species like tigers, polar bears and wolves.
Our women's groups are a diverse mix. You'll find singles and solo travelers, friends traveling together, mothers and daughters (and granddaughters), female couples, and married women who sometimes like to travel independently of their husbands. What unites them all is a love for nature, discovery and the appeal of an all-women setting.
