Lianne Thompson
Lianne grew up in southern Ontario, drawn to every opportunity to explore the outdoors. Her love for wildlife led her to pursue a degree in Zoology, launching a career in conservation through work with zoos and environmental organizations. Early on, she recognized the importance of effective science communication—bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and public engagement.
To deepen her impact, Lianne earned a master’s degree in science communication, focusing on leadership, education and community-driven conservation. Her studies took her across the globe, where she encountered innovative initiatives in wildlife protection. These experiences shaped her passion for human-wildlife coexistence and sustainable wildlife tourism, setting the stage for a career in guiding.
Now, as a wildlife guide, Lianne blends education, adventure and photography to create meaningful experiences for travelers. To her, photography is more than documentation—it’s a means of connection. A single image can recall the bite of an Arctic wind, the scent of rain-soaked rainforest earth or the warmth of the sun cresting a mountain peak.
Through her work, she strives to help others forge these same connections, using photography to cultivate awe, appreciation and a commitment to conservation. Whether guiding guests to capture polar bears, whales or the Aurora Borealis, Lianne is dedicated to sharing the magic of the natural world—one frame at a time.
