Galapagos Conservation & Community Initiatives
The Galapagos Islands are one of the birthplaces of ecotourism and conservation travel since efforts to protect them began in the 1970s. Now, decades later, it’s our responsibility to continue to protect this fragile environment. While conservation travel inherently helps protect the environment though the spread of advocacy, direct financial contributions to the Galapagos National Park Service, and both direct and indirect contributions to local communities, there is more we can do to ensure the Galapagos Islands remain a model for sustainable travel. We at Natural Habitat Adventures are proud to be involved in the following initiatives throughout the Galapagos archipelago and the handful of communities present there, as well as in parts of mainland Ecuador we visit on our adventures.
