Nat Hab's Tortoise Camp
In the highlands of Santa Cruz, our private Tortoise Camp is set in lush native habitat home to dozens of giant tortoises, the islands' namesake. Although rustic, Tortoise Camp holds surprising comforts. Accommodations are in two-person permanent tents on raised platforms with large viewing windows, or in charming treehouses with real beds and cozy bedding. The four treehouses each have an en suite toilet and a small sink, with showers available in a shared bathhouse about 50 yards away. Each of the six raised tents has a small sink plus private en suite shower and flush toilet located just outside the sleeping tent. Enjoy full dinners and breakfasts prepared by the camp chef and served in the covered dining room. The adjoining sheltered lounge space offers seating in front of a crackling log fire, and a bar is available for evening drinks and socializing. A network of trails surrounds the camp, and we regularly see wild Galapagos tortoises lounging in the vegetation.
