Theresa Muczynski
Theresa raised two girls with her husband while working for a small family company until 2006. Recognizing her passion for finance and math, Theresa returned to school as an adult to complete her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. Learning statistics alongside her daughters’ childhood friends when she at one point had served as their lunch mom in elementary school was interesting and fun.
Theresa moved to Crestwood, Kentucky in 2014. While different from Michigan, the rolling hills and greenery of the Bluegrass State have a beauty all their own. She worked in accounting roles at a nonprofit and for a third-party logistics company before joining Natural Habitat Adventures as an Adventure Payables Specialist in 2023. This role combines her passions and talents: adventure travel, people and accounting. What Theresa loves about travel is how it makes us storytellers. She feels similarly about accounting—the language of accounting (yes, it is a language) tells a story about the past, present and future of where a business started, where it is now, and what the future might hold. Every day is an adventure!
In 2023, Theresa visited the Polar Bear Capital of the World as a guest on Nat Hab's Tundra Lodge Adventure—a truly magical wildlife experience. Her small group, guided by expert naturalists, came within 10 feet of polar bears and Arctic foxes in their natural habitat. Theresa’s happiest days are spent biking, taking nature walks and spending time with her two beautiful girls.
