Born and raised in Colorado, Sarah was introduced to adventure at an early age. Childhood vacations were spent hiking, camping, backpacking and skiing with her parents and brother. Sarah's love of travel began at the age of eight when she lived in Kenya for two years while her father did consulting work. She has returned to Africa several times since then. She spent four months studying in Zimbabwe during college followed by a five week hitchhiking trip through South Africa, Namibia and Botswana with two friends. After graduating from Beloit College in Wisconsin, Sarah returned to Africa -- this time to Tanzania -- and worked for a small non-governmental organization focused on local environmental issues. Upon returning from Tanzania, Sarah decided it was time to move back to Colorado to be near her family and the mountains. She has been with Natural Habitat since 1998.
