Rasa was born and raised in the small Baltic nation of Lithuania. She grew up in Kaunas, a charming city in the middle of the country, and spent summers in the countryside helping her grandparents take care of their farm and exploring Lithuania's greatest treasures—its pristine lakes and untamed forests. It was those summers that shaped her love for the outdoors. Since then, Rasa has spent much of her life in various international educational and professional institutions. After she finished her master's degree in Lithuania, Rasa studied in Norway, obtained another master's degree in Brussels, then worked for the Lithuanian and Republika Srpska embassies in Austria and Belgium, respectively. When she wasn't studying or working, Rasa spent weeks exploring Europe and the rest of the world.
Highlights of her adventures include witnessing the magical northern lights in Iceland, observing migrating elephants in Sri Lanka, watching humpback whales in Baja, Mexico, and hiking the Canadian Rockies. Rasa enjoyed several opportunities to journey with Nat Hab as well. She explored the African gem, Botswana, encountered the majestic polar bears in Churchill, hiked the mysterious Machu Picchu, searched for jungle wildlife in the Amazon, and ventured to the pristine wilderness of Antarctica and visited the unique Galapagos Islands.
Rasa moved to Colorado in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the state. She is currently raising two young boys with her husband, she enjoys heading out to hike, snowboard and play tennis whenever the chaos at home subsides!
