Rachel MiltonDirector of Adventure Fulfillment
Rachel hails from Louisiana. Having constant access to the ocean, beaches, and bayous seeded her outdoor focus early in life. With a fresh degree in Physical Therapy from Louisiana State in hand, she began her work life on the move as a travel therapist in states across the U.S. An early chance to spend a month in South Africa whet her appetite for international travel, and she hasn’t stopped since. Rachel’s independent travels have seen her hiking the sacred places in Ireland and exploring hidden temples in Mexico. She’s walked in the footsteps of Japanese emperors and eaten san-nakji in the fish markets of South Korea.
As her work life advanced, Rachel found herself drawn to an innate ability to organize and execute and she shifted her focus to project and program management. Having spent years exploring the eastern seaboards, Rachel headed West and landed in Colorado, joining Nat Hab in 2018. Over the subsequent years, Rachel has added to her world travels for Nat Hab – experiencing polar bears while under the northern lights, exploring the long off-limits culture of Cuba, and listening to the cracking of the ice sheets in Greenland. She has floated amid primeval wildlife in the Galapagos and measured the precision of the ancient blocks of Machu Pichu. Exploring the Amazon River, she was so close to the heart of the river that she managed to catch a piranha. Most recently, she’s shared her morning coffee with elephants and big cats in Botswana – experiencing 360 degrees of Africa.
Currently, you can find Rachel in Colorado applying her organization skills for Nat Hab leading the team responsible for handling and delivering the hundreds of thousands of “things” necessary for our guests and guide teams to have a successful trip. When not working, you can find Rachel on her Colorado property expanding her knowledge of permaculture or developing recipes for the things she grows. Even outside work she continues to focus on challenging logistics and planning problems – raising two fantastic teenage daughters.
