Jimmy grew up in Orange County, California, where his dad sparked his love for the outdoors early on. Backyard camping, beach weekends, bike rides and spontaneous family day trips were part of life, teaching Jimmy that adventure doesn’t have to be far from home.

After graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in U.S. history and a minor in English, Jimmy found himself working at a law firm in Los Angeles … until he realized office life wasn’t for him. On a whim, he signed up for a Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) course in Costa Rica, booked a one-way ticket to San Jose and never looked back.

He spent the next few years teaching English in Costa Rica and China, then returned to the U.S. to lead high school students on summer service programs. A brief teaching stint in Japan followed, but Jimmy’s was drawn to creating meaningful, transformative travel experiences. He’s since organized programs everywhere from New Orleans to Vietnam, Cambodia, and California’s High Sierra. When he’s not working, you’ll find him reading, hiking, experimenting in the kitchen or planning his next trip.
