Janet was born and raised in the suburbs of the Motor City where cruising in hot rods and attending rock concerts were her pass times of choice. After several trips to northern Michigan camping, canoeing, hiking, skiing and fishing, she realized it was the outdoors she preferred to the concrete city. She got the travel bug while attending Michigan State University and venturing to various destinations during winter and spring breaks. One winter break brought her to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a week of skiing the Rocky Mountains. Falling in love with the dramatic landscapes of Colorado, she moved to Boulder shortly after graduating from MSU in 1992 where she has remained ever since. Now she does not have to travel far from home to experience the nature she fell in love with back in northern Michigan. It is right in her front yard. She completed travel school and worked as a travel agent at an agency located on the University of Colorado campus where her travels took her to Europe and Central America. After a couple years working mainly with students, she landed a job at Natural Habitat Adventures in the air department where her travels have continued to take her to far away places such as southern Africa, the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Baja Mexico, British Columbia and Churchill, Manitoba. In her spare time, she likes to be outdoors as much as possible with her family camping, hiking, biking and snowboarding, or indoors working on her yoga practice.
