Hailing from Colorado, Camie has spent much of her life exploring the Rocky Mountains. When Camie was a child, her mother rescued many homeless and injured animals, fostering in Camie a great fondness for wildlife and insects. Later, her high school sweetheart (now husband) opened her eyes to the wider world. Outside of Colorado, Camie has enjoyed many road trips and adventures to major cities, tiny towns and national parks like Yellowstone, Mesa Verde, Grand Teton National Park and the Grand Canyon. And as much as she loves to see grand monuments, she also adores finding quirky roadside attractions like the world's largest ball of yarn, the Corn Palace, Seattle’s Fremont Bridge troll and other  oddities. She has enjoyed visits to the pyramids of Tulum in Mexico, the botanical gardens of Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and the beaches of Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii.

Camie has traveled with Nat Hab throughout the world. She’s had the pleasure of seeing wild polar bears and watching the northern lights in Churchill, Manitoba; followed Darwin’s footsteps with her son in the Galapagos Islands and marveled at wild elephants, wild African dogs and leopards in Botswana. She’s traveled to Scotland with her husband; explored ancient forests, pebble beaches and glaciers on New Zealand’s South Island; scouted jaguar in Brazil’s Pantanal and cried tears of joy watching orangutans swing through Borneo’s rainforests. In Peru, she cruised up the Amazon River searching for pink river dolphins on the Delphin II. Most recently, she communed with peaceful mountain gorillas and spirited chimpanzees in Uganda.

Camie has also explored the world by boat, via Lindblad/National Geographic expeditions. From the sea lions of Baja to the many wonders of the Galapagos, to the icy fjords of Norway and Arctic Svalbard to Antarctica's enormous glaciers to Iceland's abundant puffins, she has marveled at many natural wonders while at sea.

“Carpe Diem” is truly Camie’s motto as she embraces all that this amazing world has to offer. She is grateful to be able to explore it with like-minded colleagues who share her love for animals and adventure.
