Kristoffer Korol
Raised amid the ponderosa pines and Saskatoon berries of Okanagan Valley, Kristoffer was destined to lead a life intimately tied to nature. His time at the University of Victoria fostered a profound affinity for the ocean, which, once ignited, refused to be extinguished. A spontaneous decision led Kristoffer to enroll in an intensive four-month whitewater program. This transformative journey, navigating rivers from Canada's James Bay to Jalcomulco, Mexico, saw him progress from a novice paddler to conquering 40-foot waterfalls. Driven to pursue a career in paddle guiding, he attended a commercial diving college, thus beginning a thrilling sub-marine adventure.
His diving exploits include surveying extensive herring spawns along the west coast and salvaging sunken vessels in Vancouver's harbors. A brief hiatus from aquatic life came when Kristoffer was offered a role conducting geo surveys in the Canadian subarctic. What began as a single phone call evolved into three summer seasons of trudging alone over the endless tundra, marking the inception of his polar fascination.
Fueled by an insatiable curiosity and an ardent love for the natural world, Kristoffer's guiding career spans the Canadian Arctic, Svalbard, and as far south as the Antarctic Circle. Excited to share his passion, knowledge and keen observation skills, he became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in 2023. He looks forward to guiding you across frozen terrains and icy seas. When not navigating high latitudes, Kristoffer resides on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, exploring temperate landscapes and seas alongside his partner and their young daughter, Zephyr.
