Katie Burnett 2024
Katie joins Nat Hab with three years of experience as a summer guide and naturalist in Alaska while spending her winters chasing powder. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Katie developed an early love for the ocean while camping and surfing with her family all along the southern California coast. She studied anthropology and geography and received a Bachelor of Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, blending her interest in human history with her fascination of the natural world.
In university, she joined the outdoor leadership program, unwittingly launching her outdoor industry career. She also began backpacking, a turning point that gave her life direction. Her love for backpacking has propelled her around the world, from working backcountry jobs around the U.S. to trekking in Peru, Nepal, the European alps and … up next … Kyrgyzstan!
Most recently, Katie has been guiding in southeast Alaska’s temperate rain forest and is always excited to talk flowers, intertidal life and, of course, bears. When she’s not guiding or traveling, she lives in Park City, Utah.
