Juancarlos Duenas 2024
Juancarlos was born and raised in Cusco, Peru, the former capital of the Inca Empire. His early years were shaped by frequent hiking trips with his brothers and father, who taught them the names of flowers, birds and trees. These explorations and his father's tales and teachings sparked his interest in nature and travel.
After earning a degree in tourism, Juancarlos became an official tour guide in 2000. He takes immense pride in his country and its culture, eagerly sharing its wonders with others. His profession allows him to meet a diverse array of people, providing him the opportunity to educate them about Peru's rich heritage. He joined Natural Habitat Adventures as an Expedition Leader in 2024, where he is able to share his extensive knowledge of ecology, photography, birding, archaeology and Peruvian culture.
In his free time, Juancarlos is constantly active, enjoying trail running, playing guitar and indulging in his love for music, movies and photography.
