Jimmy Patino Solis
Jimmy Patino Solis
Jimmy was born in 1985 in Puerto Ayora, a small port town on the southern side of Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. From a young age, he ventured out on the open ocean with his father on fishing trips, looking for giant groupers, red snappers and sometimes free diving for red spiny lobsters. Jimmy developed a special connection with the ocean and soon started to dream about how to share the magic of this archipelago with the world. After graduating from high school, he spent a year studying marine biology in Guayaquil, then returned to the islands to work with the Charles Darwin Foundation. This enriching life experience propelled him to become a local naturalist guide, leading adventures in the Galapagos and mainland Ecuador. In 2023, Jimmy became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in the Galapagos. Beginning as a dive guide assistant, Jimmy is now a PADI Divemaster. Free diving is his way of connecting with his father and the ocean. Having honed his underwater photography skills through the years, he is eager to help travelers photograph the marvels of the "Enchanted Isles."
In his free time, Jimmy enjoys spending time with his three children. He owns an Airbnb in Puerto Ayora with his wife, and they have the opportunity to travel frequently, taking many photos and videos along the way.
