Jamie Smith-Morvell
Jamie hails from a picturesque town in rural Victoria, Australia. Time spent on family farms and in the bush nurtured his love for nature. Jamie's passion for Australian flora bloomed, and he found joy in identifying the diverse array of birds and other animals surrounding him.
Although Jamie's initial foray into academia led him to psychology and a career in disability services, his inherent love for nature steered him toward guiding and ecological fieldwork. Recognized for his in-depth knowledge of wildlife, Jamie has served as a field ecologist conducting fauna surveys and has led various tours across the Australian terrain.
Never missing an opportunity to delve into the outdoors, Jamie is an enthusiastic birder, hiker and wildlife photographer. Whenever time allows, he indulges in extensive trips focused on discovering and capturing the beauty of new species.
A Nat Hab Expedition Leader since 2023, Jamie relishes the thrill of seeking out animals in the bush and cherishes the joy of sharing these experiences with travelers. His work in ecology, guiding experience and personal wildlife endeavors have honed his ability to spot and understand the unique creatures that call Australia home.
