Jake Richards2021
After completing his degree, Jake headed to the American West. One of his mentors introduced him to the graduate program at Teton Science School in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and it was during this year-long immersive experience that he honed his skills as a scientist, educator and tracker in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. After completing this program, he finished his master’s degree at Utah State University, focusing on wildlife communication and social science in support of efforts to conserve the critically endangered California condor in southern Utah.
Jake currently calls the mountains of northern Utah home. He is an avid outdoorsman and musician who spends his free time hiking, fishing, reading and playing old country tunes on whatever beat-up instrument he can get his hands on.

Jake is by far the best Expedition Leader we have ever had on ANY trip. He has extensive knowledge of all flora and fauna, as well as the geology and history of Yellowstone. He is extremely personable, and we had many laughs throughout the trip. He is very patient and kind. He is a company treasure, and we hope to have him on a future expedition.
A gentleman and a scholar! He established an atmosphere of acceptance and non-judgment and was articulate and organized in thought and speech. He had great leadership skills.
I can't say enough good things about Jake. He has a superior depth of knowledge about the geology, ecology and history of the area and the behavior and lifestyles of animals. He has an amazing level of energy, great intelligence and kept us happy. Based on Jake's leadership, we'll probably make all future trips with Nat Hab.
