Isaac Rotich
Isaac Rotich
Isaac is a world-class naturalist and fantastically enthusiastic guide—one of only a few gold-certified guides in Kenya. His career in the bush started with mountain bike safaris in the early 1990s. He quickly worked his way up through the ranks to become head guide at a flagship camp in the Maasai Mara. Beyond his guiding career in Kenya, he has led safaris in a variety of destinations, including Tanzania, Uganda the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Botswana. In 2004, Isaac returned to Kenya to work as head guide and manager at camps in the Maasai Mara and Amboseli before joining Natural Habitat Adventures in Tanzania and Kenya.
Isaac has a deep passion for communities and conservation. He is particularly driven to improve the livelihoods of communities living alongside wildlife—especially cultures that are steadily vanishing in our modern world. Although his knowledge of the bush and wildlife is all-encompassing, he has a particular passion for birding and has completed extensive study in ornithology. Isaac lives in the Ngong Hills on the outskirts of Nairobi with his wife and three children.
What Our Guests Say
Isaac definitely went above and beyond. Were very lucky to have him as our Expedition Leader, as he has such a buoyant personality, is broadly knowledgeable and is sensitive to the smallest detail.
Isaac was so enthusiastic about every sighting we had and made them all feel very special. He connected with every member of our group and accommodated individual needs with ease. He was highly informative and seemed to have endless energy. I loved him as did my whole family.
Isaac is an exceptional guide. His maturity, knowledge, passion, sense of fun and attention to detail could not have been improved. He really tried to make everyone happy with their experience, and if any issues arose he endeavored to fix them promptly. I cannot think of a thing that could improve our experience with Isaac. I believe he went above and beyond.
