Born in Glasgow and raised in Inverness, he maintains deep roots in the Isle of Skye and is a fluent Gaidhlig (Scots Gaelic) speaker. His childhood, enriched by time spent on Skye with his grandparents and assisting local crofters, fostered his profound appreciation for the natural world.
After obtaining a degree in zoology from the University of Aberdeen, Donald served as a ranger at Aigas Field Center, where he led Hebrides excursions, among other responsibilities. His commitment to nature extended to volunteering with various conservation initiatives in New Zealand. Donald's passion for guiding and wildlife led him to become a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in Scotland in 2022.
Donald's professional pursuits include working as an ecologist and conducting comprehensive wildlife surveys.
