Dany grew up in the heart of Mexico City but always felt drawn to nature. As a kid, she spent hours exploring hidden green spaces, watching bugs crawl through the dirt and dreaming of becoming an explorer—just like the ones in her favorite wildlife documentaries.
That dream eventually took her to La Paz, Baja California Sur, where she studied marine biology and fell in love with life on the water. While researching aquatic birds for her thesis, she got hooked on birdwatching. She also took up sailing, eventually earning her captain’s license and spending more and more time on the ocean.
Dany built a career guiding whale-watching and bird-watching tours, along with kayaking, hiking and snorkeling trips around Baja. She loves spotting wildlife and sharing the excitement of seeing incredible animals up close.
When she’s not out exploring, she’s reading, painting, camping or spending time with her three amazing kids. She grew up surrounded by strong women and is passionate about encouraging more women to step into the world of guiding, conservation and sailing.
