Cameron Pearce2024
Determined to be among the most adept guides, he pursued extensive qualifications through the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA), including Professional Field Guide; Professional Trails Guide; SKS (Specialist Knowledge and Skills) Birding for several African countries; Savanna Biome Guide; Marine Guide; and Culture Guide. He has also served as a qualified guide instructor, mentor and assessor for FGASA since 2016, and has earned the esteemed Professional Tracker qualification through CyberTracker.
At 19, Cameron embarked on his first guiding journey in the renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve, subsequently exploring South Africa’s diverse wildlife landscapes for over eight years. Craving varied terrains, he delved into Tswalu Kalahari, South Africa’s largest private game reserve. Subsequently, life brought him to the UK to gain insights into safari industry operations as a Senior Safari Specialist, before Southern Africa beckoned him home in 2016 to lead expeditions and train safari guides. He is thrilled to join the Nat Hab team as an Expedition Leader.
A pinnacle achievement was earning FGASA's Safari Guide of the Year 2022, a testament to his proficiency in a range of safari disciplines. As an enthusiastic wildlife photographer with works featured in Africa Geographic, he relishes mammal observation, birding, tracking and walking safaris, along with delving into ecology, animal behavior and taxonomy. He also enjoys camping and fly fishing and is currently working on attaining a Master Scuba Diver certification through PADI.
In October of 2023, he wed Stéphanie, a wildlife ecologist based at the Ongava Research Center in Namibia. Here, amidst the 74,000 acres of arid landscape and unique wildlife, they’ll continue their journey, blending knowledge and a shared passion for the intricacies of nature.
