Bryn Mitchell
A passionate outdoorsman and wildlife enthusiast, Bryn was born and raised in western Canada, spending most of his life in the Rocky Mountains. Growing up in a family that cherished wilderness experiences, Bryn developed a deep connection to nature through skiing, camping and hiking. His grandfather, a horse pack trip guide in the Rockies, instilled in him a wealth of knowledge about the region’s flora and fauna.
Inspired by childhood encounters with bears, wolves and other wildlife, Bryn pursued a career in outdoor guiding. He completed a two-year program in British Columbia, honing his skills before becoming a grizzly bear viewing guide on Canada’s west coast. This experience ignited a passion for educating others about these magnificent creatures and their complex ecosystems.
He joins Nat Hab as an Expedition Leader for polar bear tours in Churchill, Manitoba, a role that allows him to expand his bear guiding repertoire. His diverse guiding abilities extends to winter sports, where he works at a ski guide at a backcountry snow-cat skiing lodge in British Columbia.
An avid adventurer, Bryn has embarked on numerous expeditions worldwide, including summiting Aconcagua, South America’s tallest peak, pack rafting Alaska’s rivers and searching for red pandas in Nepal. When he’s not guiding or traveling, he lives in Nelson, British Columbia.
