Angel Cardenas
Born and raised in the enchanting city of Cusco, Peru—the heart of the Inca Empire—Angel has always been surrounded by stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage. His father worked at a power plant near the iconic Machu Picchu, nestled in the cloud forests of Cusco, which sparked his lifelong fascination with nature, wildlife and the vibrant cultures that thrive in this unique environment.
Angel holds a degree in Tourism from San Antonio Abad del Cusco University and has been a certified guide since 2000. In his early career, he was a cultural and nature guide in the Cusco region, where he spent a decade sharing the wonders of his homeland with visitors. Eventually, he relocated to Lima with his family, but his passion for guiding never waned. Since 2010, he’s led immersive nature and culture trips across Peru, particularly to the Amazon and Machu Picchu, as well as to other captivating South American destinations.
He’s an avid photographer, and an even more avid birdwatcher. Since the pandemic, he’s embraced this interest and become a dedicated birdwatching guide, sharing the joy of spotting diverse bird species with fellow enthusiasts. In his free time, he spends time with his family and friends.
