Andy Woodward
After school, he embarked on a gap year to New Zealand, traversing both islands, shepherding sheep, tending to kiwi fruit and harvesting asparagus for a season. He returned to the UK to study cartography, geography and land use in Luton, colloquially known as the UK’s “Motown.” A passion for travel propelled Andy into tour operating, ascending to the position of Product Director of a $50m turnover specialist by age 30.
A career transition into tourism saw him representing destinations such as California, North Carolina, Taiwan and Tasmania, before a refocusing on home-life led him to domestic tourism. Andy assumed the role of CEO at a notable farm charity, Farm Stay UK, specializing in farm/agri-tourism diversification. This niche focus has established him as a leading authority in rural tourism, culminating in his presidency at EuroGites, the European Federation of Rural Tourism.
Since 2017, Andy has been guiding for pleasure, delighting in imparting his knowledge to visitors. He strategically avoids overly touristic destinations, preferring to introduce guests to the authentic Cotswolds, while forming new friendships. He became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in 2023.
