Group Size
As this is an optional extension, group size may vary, but is limited to 12 travelers.
Included
Trip price includes: Accommodations, services of a driver and local guide, meals from lunch on Day 1 to breakfast on final day, airport transfer on final day, all permits, entrance fees and taxes.
Internal air cost includes: Flight from Chengdu to Beijing (this will be listed separately on our invoicing).
Not Included
Travel from the end point of the trip, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, optional activities, items of a personal nature (phone calls, laundry and internet, etc.).
Physical Requirements
Moderate
Travelers must be able to walk unassisted (without the use of walking aids) a minimum of two miles over uneven ground in order to participate in this extension. Our Beijing Extension includes two very full days of exploration, beginning with early morning departures. While exploring Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, we will be walking up to 4-5 hours in duration in an extremely crowded area that offers very few benches or rest seating areas. In order to participate in the Great Wall excursion, you must also be able to walk 75 yards up a fairly steep incline with some steps in order to reach the gondola. From the gondola disembarkation area, you must climb another set of stairs to get to the top of the wall itself. Walking along the wall requires navigating an uneven stone path with short climbs and descents, interspersed with many sets of stairs.

On this extension our primary focus is visiting two of China's most famous cultural monuments.
Getting There & Getting Home
You will be picked up at the hotel in Chengdu on the final day of your main itinerary and transferred to the airport for your flight to Beijing. You will spend three nights in Beijing and are free to schedule your departing flight from Beijing at any time on the final day of the extension.
