Lila Woolman
It was amid the Garden of the Gods sandstone rock formations behind her house in Colorado Springs that Lila would hike as a child, her trusty dog in tow. Hours spent there planted seeds of her lifelong curiosity for nature and love of exploring. She was enthralled whenever she would watch Wild Kingdom with her grandparents and began dreaming of travels to the African continent to see those magnificent animals. In 2018, that dream came true. As Africa Logistics Manager for Deeper Africa, she went on a three-week site inspection of Victoria Falls, Cape Town and Kenya’s nature reserves. In her position at Deeper Africa, Lila coordinated guest departures with partners in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda. In 2023, she joined the Nat Hab team as an Administrative Assistant, perfectly combining her love of travel with her passion for wildlife.
Outside of her work in the travel industry, trips to Spain and Portugal came her way through her avocation as a professional violinist with symphonies in Colorado and California. She earned her Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and studied privately with Juilliard professor Stephen Clapp in New York City and at the Aspen Music Festival. Some of her other previous adventures include:
• Kayaking with the penguins along Seaforth Beach in South Africa
• Visiting a child she sponsored in Bolivia
• Hiking Yosemite’s Half Dome Trail and Half Dome Cables
• Backpacking the Grand Canyon North Rim Kaibab Trail
• Racewalking the Honolulu Marathon for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
