Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Rob spent his youth exploring the forests, lakes and rivers of the Ottawa Valley and Gatineau Hills. It was here at a young age that he first discovered a love for wilderness. Whether on foot, skis or in a canoe, Rob is most at home exploring wild areas where the air is fresh and wildlife roams free. Rob’s interest in the natural world and his passion for sharing it with others led him to a career in ecotourism. Since 2011, Rob has lead multi-week wilderness canoeing expeditions in the Canadian Arctic and subarctic, exploring the vast wilderness of Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Rob enjoys sharing his knowledge of Arctic flora and fauna as well as the ancient cultures and indigenous people who have long been at home in these wild landscapes. Rob also teaches whitewater canoeing and kayaking in Ontario. Since 2013, Rob has been pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Ecology at the University of Guelph, Ontario. Learning about the ecological systems that maintain the world, and how we can protect these systems, especially in the North, are the core of his academic interests.
Where do I begin? Rob was awesome! He cared so much for everyone and everything. We always knew exactly what we were going to do and when. He had so much information about where we were, the community, it’s people, history and the present day. He was helpful, funny and kind. I’d travel with him anytime, anywhere!

I've been on many trips with Expedition Leaders, Rob is the best I've ever seen. He has incredible people skills and is an endless fountain of information on polar bears and Churchill. His professionalism, sensitivity, generosity and attention to my safety were unsurpassed. Based solely on my experience with Rob, I would definitely do another trip with Nat Hab. He represents your company as an expertly trained professional.

Rob is a wonderful guide. He's knowledgeable, caring and enthusiastic. He made the trip so enjoyable with his sense of humor, his knowledge of all things about Churchill and his great singing! He's a delightful human being.
