Hailing from New South Wales, Australia, Matt embarked on his wildlife odyssey as a teen reptile keeper at a local zoo. His fervor for reptiles was cultivated alongside a passion for education. Under mentorship, Matt evolved into a public wildlife presenter. At 19, he relocated to Far North Queensland, where his career flourished in eclectic directions.

Matt's resume boasts experience as a venomous snake and crocodile keeper, a police officer and a nature tour guide. He has co-owned a wildlife education enterprise with his wife, Jodie, for over 10 years, traversing Far North Queensland to enlighten young minds. In 2023, he became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader, devoting his time to sharing the wonders of his ‘backyard’ with international travelers. With unbridled enthusiasm for Australian wildlife and nature photography, Matt finds joy in introducing others to the awe-inspiring Australian wilderness.
