Greg is a naturalist guide, conservationist and talented nature and underwater photographer with Ecuadorian roots. Growing up on the Galapagos Islands, Greg was captivated by the unique beauty and enchantment of his surroundings. As he got older, his passion for wildlife and thirst for knowledge only grew stronger, inspiring him to pursue a career in science. Greg started as a Galapagos Naturalist Guide in 1999 and became a Scuba Dive Instructor and Underwater Specialist at the Galapagos Marine Reserve in 2002. Over the years, he honed his skills and expertise by leading groups on land and underwater, which eventually led him to become more interested in marine sciences. His academic pursuits took him to the U.S., where he earned a bachelor's degree in geosciences and a master's degree in geographic information sciences.
As a wildlife photographer and storyteller, Greg's focus is on uncovering the intricacies and natural environments of animals around the world. His insatiable curiosity has taken him to far-flung destinations like Antarctica, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands, Borneo, Baja California and Alaska where he has photographed a wide range of wildlife, including penguins, orangutans, gray whales and brown bears. With each journey, he captures his experiences through the lens of his camera, sharing with the world the realities of wildlife's endangered ecosystems and raising awareness along the way. Eager to continue sharing his passion for nature photography with travelers to the Galapagos, Greg became a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in 2024.
Together, Natural Habitat Adventures and World Wildlife Fund have teamed up to arrange nearly 100 nature travel experiences around the planet, while helping to protect the magnificent places we visit and their wild inhabitants.
