Daniela was born in 1986 in Playas, a picturesque coastal city in Ecuador, and spent her childhood on Santa Cruz Island. When she was 15, her family relocated to Guayaquil, allowing her and her siblings to complete their high school education. In 2008, Daniela returned to the islands that had charmed her in her youth. A passionate outdoor educator, she soon completed courses within Galapagos National Park to become a naturalist guide.

A Galapagos Nat Hab Expedition Leader since 2023, Daniela’s affinity for the natural world is palpable as she guides travelers through this biodiverse UNESCO World Heritage Site she's proud to call home. The privilege of sharing this unique environment with others deepens her love for her job. She and her husband strive to instill this same fervor in her two children, promoting learning through experiences. Daniela lives near the small town of Bellavista on Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. In her free time, Daniela enjoys scuba diving, going to the beach with her kids, riding her bike, listening to music and learning to play piano. She also loves cooking with friends, and studied gastronomy for a year in Guayaquil before becoming a guide. Her travels outside Ecuador include Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, the U.S. and Peru.
