Colby Brokvist2006
Since joining Nat Hab in 2006, he has led hundreds of expeditions around the globe. Currently, he specializes in polar destinations and holds the prestigious Senior Polar Guide certification, issued through the Polar Tourism Guides Association (PTGA), an organization for which he is the current chair. He is also an ambassador for Tomorrow’s Air, an organization dedicated to harnessing the power of travelers to spur the innovation of climate solutions and popularize climate-conscious travel.
As a Nat Hab Photo Expedition leader, Colby brings creative expertise to various trips worldwide. He is a certified Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic Photography Instructor and loves helping others capture the special moments that define Nat Hab’s nature expeditions. He particularly enjoys utilizing his past university coursework—dating back to the darkroom days with his Canon AE-1—to share in creative exploits with like-minded travelers. His training in creative storytelling and preference for prioritizing immersive travel experiences over the constant use of the camera translates to a body of work with an intimate feel, and he aims to pass along this skill to those who travel with him.

What Our Guests Say
Colby is clearly in a league by himself. We have shared time with literally hundreds of guides all over the world, but this young man is a model all others should aspire to. His communication skills are incredibly polished and effective. His sense of timing, knowing when and how to pose a thought-provoking question, and use of humor are surpassed only by his subject matter knowledge which is amazingly deep and wide. His guiding is unsurpassed: what a joy it has been to know the Churchill region through his trained eyes and what a pleasure it was to have these days with him. We know Churchill in a way few outsiders could every know it, all thanks to Colby.
We cannot even begin to list how fantastic Colby was as our Expedition Leader. His knowledge and passion for the wildlife, plants, geology and history of the area were huge. He was organized, enthusiastic and was always attentive to the group and individual's needs. He made the trip. To have Colby be so enthusiastic just added to the wonder and awe I felt watching the magnificent bears. He answered questions, no matter how simple or difficult. He has so much knowledge and passion that it simply made the trip even better than expected.
We could not have asked for a better guide. Colby was extremely knowledgeable and very well organized, but more than that, he was very thoughtful and sensitive. We all enjoyed one another, but Colby definitely set the tone. He is an exceptional young man, and we all felt safe and comfortable with him and fully trusted his judgment. The trip was outstanding, thanks to Colby.
