Anthony Mallinson2022
Anthony studied glaciology at the University of Stockholm and geology and environmental studies at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This educational foundation has been enriched by Anthony's proclivity to seek local knowledge, spend time in nature and read extensively; you can always count on him for a good book recommendation! Anthony began his guiding career as a sea kayak guide and marine naturalist in the Discovery Islands on the west coast of BC, bridging his passion for adventure with his aspirations for a career that would immerse him in outdoors. Inspired by the region’s rich biodiversity, he delved into local ecology and natural history, a practice he has maintained while guiding in New Zealand and teaching skiing in BC’s Kootenays region, as well as in his own outdoor endeavors. Anthony is enthusiastic about facilitating exceptional experiential learning opportunities for travelers as a Nat Hab Expedition Leader in Quebec and Churchill, Manitoba.
In between guiding trips, Anthony can be found on his own adventures climbing, hiking and skiing in the mountains, and paddling remote coastlines. In 2022, he and his partner began a multi-year attempt to kayak the fabled Northwest Passage. Anthony is always in search of the world’s best hot chocolate and he loves baking chocolate chip cookies.

What Our Guests Say
Anthony is simply a joy to interact with. He has a depth of knowledge about the community and is deeply committed to extending his vast understanding by being a voracious reader, particularly focused on all things Churchill. His humility and innate inclination to serve others is what truly sets him apart. We are huge Anthony fans, and we know that those who are privileged to have him as their Expedition Leader on future Northern Lights expeditions will be as appreciative of his leadership as we were.
I love Anthony! I really appreciated the infectious enthusiasm he has—it was more like chatting with a friend than an Expedition Leader. He also took really great photos and had the good idea to film the Polar Rover ride through the windshield in time laps, which is awesome to have in our Adventure Portal. It was pretty emotional when I saw my first polar bear, and I'm glad to have had my dad on one side and Anthony on the other to share the moment.
Anthony was an amazing Expedition Leader. He is such a hardworking, knowledgeable, warm and kind man. He went above and beyond every day to make our trip the best it could be. This trip exceeded our expectations on all levels. Anthony is an asset to Nat Hab!
