As you might imagine, few places can rival Botswana’s Kalahari Desert when it comes to spectacular stargazing. Because there is almost no light pollution in this sparsely inhabited corner of the globe, the adjective star-studded doesn’t begin to do these skies justice. At the recently refurbished Kalahari Plains Camp, in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, you don’t have to miss out on the action just because it’s time for bed; each canvas tent features its own private sleep out deck.
