Cassie O’Connor: February 24 – March 13, 2015
At World Wildlife Fund, Cassie O’Connor works with foundations and with program staff to provide support to conservation projects throughout the world, with a particular focus on Indonesia and the Pacific. Cassie has been involved in conservation and research projects in Indonesia for more than 15 years, including living in Dayak villages in logging concessions, co-managing a rainforest research station, and working on a community forestry project. Prior to joining WWF, Cassie worked as an attorney for an environmental justice organization, clerked at Earthjustice and the National Wildlife Federation, and studied wild dogs in Botswana and killer whales in British Columbia. She received a master’s in ecology and law degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s in anthropology from Harvard University.
