Do you love nature? Wildlife? Fabulous photographs of the natural world? And are you within driving distance of Denver?
Then come discover Africa as you’ve never seen it before! Be NHA’s guest at a new exhibit by renowned nature photographer John Fielder featuring spectacular panoramic images of Africa.
“John Fielder’s Africa Panoramic” debuts to the public on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 am – 6 pm at his gallery in Denver’s Santa Fe art district, at 833 Santa Fe Drive. At 1 pm and 3 pm, Fielder will speak about his experiences in Namibia and Zambia.
Fielder’s magnificent landscapes of the Colorado Rockies have impressed fans for more than 30 years… Imagine the results when an artist with his gifts turns his lens on the wonders of Africa! The exhibit features 38 limited-edition panoramic photographs mounted up to eight feet in length, plus images by Fielder’s traveling companion, Zambian photographer Michelle Attala.
When Fielder traveled to Africa last spring, he sought to capture Africa’s scenic drama and wildlife in totally fresh ways. His goal was to capture the essence of landscapes, showing creatures within their natural ecosystems. He chose Namibia and Zambia for the diversity of their landscapes and wide range of wildlife. And rather than fly from point to point, Fielder traveled overland by 4 X 4, covering more than 1500 miles of rugged wilderness terrain over two weeks. The result is a breathtaking set of images unobtainable by more conventional means.
Fielder has also produced a small quantity of Africa Panoramic large-format books, hand-signed and numbered. He’ll give one away to a lucky entrant at the opening, and Natural Habitat Adventures will also provide door prizes.
This is a nature photography gala you won’t want to miss! If you can’t make it on Saturday, the exhibit runs through December 31, 2011.
Hope to see you there!
