Lavanya Sunkara is a writer, animal lover and responsible traveler based in New York City. Her love of nature and adventure has taken her all over the globe, from Alaska to Zanzibar. She’s traveled within six continents, lived in three time zones, speaks two languages and is fervent about living a life of purpose. Some of her most memorable travel experiences include snorkeling with sea lions in the Galápagos, swimming with whale sharks in Mexico, studying dolphins in Costa Rica, camping in Tanzania’s Serengeti and caring for orphaned wallabies and kangaroos in Australia.
