“From whale watching in the Westfjords, to an early morning Zodiac cruise in a glacier lagoon, to puffin photos on the rocks near Reynisdrangar Rocks, our journey ‘Round Iceland was an amazing collection of all the different natural wonders that the country offers. Waterfalls, geothermal features, lava fields and columnar basalt formations filled our days.
My favorite memory is our glacier hike near Vatnajokull National Park. Crampons and an ice axe? This started out a little out of my comfort zone, but we all quickly got into the rhythm of crunching our crampons into the ice and, with a little help from John Mittan, our Nat Hab guide, and Philippe, our glacier guide, it turned into one of my best travel activities ever.”
