Rainforest to Rockies: Vancouver to Banff

When you want to see the planet’s most spectacular nature destinations without hordes of other people, Nat Hab delivers. That’s why we’re excited to share this new trip with you—it’s one you won’t find anywhere else!

When you join us in 2025 for Rainforest to Rockies: Vancouver to Banff, you’ll travel by private luxury train and helicopter to experience mountain grandeur few others ever see.

We’ve combined two of the most impressive nature immersions in western Canada, connecting a two-day rail journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer with heli-hiking in the Bugaboos of British Columbia from a luxury fly-in lodge.

Our journey starts in Vancouver, where we board our private glass dome car to enjoy the Rocky Mountaineer‘s exclusive GoldLeaf service.

Follow tracks into history along a stunning rail route that opened the Canadian West, wending through rocky canyons cut by mighty rivers, the world’s only inland temperate rainforest, and range after range of steep peaks. Ultimately, we reach the Canadian Rockies, among the most imposing mountains on Earth.

Here, we disembark and travel into the Kootenays where our helicopter whisks us to a wilderness lodge in view of Bugaboo Spire and the glacier-iced Purcells.

From our comfortable base, revel in heli-supported exploration of alpine terrain, with your choice of ease or challenge—since we travel with two naturalist Expedition Leaders (plus local lodge guides), we can divide up for walks according to varying desires and ability levels.

On this adventure, you’ll surely appreciate knowing you are among very few travelers who will experience this sublime wilderness. Be among the first to do so!
