Located minutes from Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, just outside the town of Santa Elena, Villa YerbaBuena is a beautiful private home in the heart of Costa Rica's misty highlands. The villa is loaded with the charm—its luxury coming in its secluded setting. More than two acres of verdant gardens surround the home, which is frequented by a wide array of birdlife. Built using local materials in the local area's traditional rustic style, the villa offers colorful, comfortable accommodations in a serene environment. As a private residence, this unique property allows us to avoid the crowds in one of Costa Rica’s most popular destinations. While Villa YerbaBuena does not offer the amenities or services of a typical hotel, each room is individually decorated and has an en suite bathroom. The glass-walled living room is an airy place to relax overlooking the gardens. Because Monteverde sits at a higher altitude, temperatures in this region can be cool in the mornings and evenings. Villa YerbaBuena is not heated, so we recommend packing warm sleepwear and wool socks. Extra blankets and space heaters are available for guest use.
