Tintswalo Safari Lodge
Manyeleti Game Reserve, South Africa
Set in the private 56,800-acre Manyeleti Game Reserve at the edge of Kruger National Park, with nary a fence separating it from the park’s predators and free-roaming taints, Tintswalo Safari Lodge is ideally situated for wildlife encounters. The lodge has the exclusive advantage of being inside a tract of private land where you can enjoy walks, nighttime wildlife drives and meals in the bush. Meanwhile, Africa's most sought-after animals graze as they've done for millennia, right at your doorstep. The lodge also shares unfenced boundaries with the Timbavati and Sabi Sand reserves and wildlife roams freely between these areas, maximizing your chances of seeing a wide variety of animals on every drive, including the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo—which roam this area.
Tintswalo’s eight spacious, elegantly appointed suites are named for intriguing historic characters—each evoking an era of exploration. Among the sophisticated furnishings are beautiful accents of thatch and stone, while gauzy netting looms high about wide, inviting beds. Plush rugs warm the floors and deep, cozy chairs face a wall of windows that gaze toward the reserve, begging you to settle in and contemplate the view. Each air-conditioned room has a private deck with its own refreshing plunge pool, and the en suite bathrooms include a deep soaking tub, separate indoor and outdoor showers, and double sinks. A safe, fan, mini bar and tea and coffee are provided in each suite, and Wi-Fi is available. Meals are served in the lodge's elegant dining room next to a large brick fireplace, or outdoors within view of the passing wildlife
