Temple Tiger Green Lodge
Location
Chitwan National Park, Nepal
Temple Tiger Green Lodge, located on the Narayani River on the edge of Chitwan National Park, is the ideal base from which to explore the wildlife and nature of the Terai lowlands of southern Nepal. We stay in new air-conditioned "green-built" villas, constructed on stilts. Each has its own private balcony that overlooks the jungle, the river and surrounding Bote villages. The villas' thatched roofs are made from the abundant Siru grass native to the region and blend seamlessly into the surroundings. Designed around a typical jungle safari theme, the villas feature wood floors with throw rugs, a cozy living area with one double or two twin beds, and decor that highlights local handcrafts and artifacts. Spacious attached bathrooms incorporate a blend of wood, granite and rattan and have solar-heated running hot and cold water. The lodge offers a central dining area with a large terrace overlooking a small lake, a bar, and a lounge with a small library. The lake is a magnet for many resident and migratory bird species, offering a constant display that will delight birdwatchers.
