Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge
Location
Sabi Sands Game Reserve
With a rich history rooted in the early discoveries and trade routes of South Africa, the modern-day Sabi Sabi came to be in 1979, when a forward-thinking group of farm owners dropped their fences and let the wildlife move freely on its ancestral lands once again. Here in Sabi Sand Game Reserve, the Sabi Sabi properties provide guests with an intimate, professional and always-riveting safari experience. The Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, Cape buffalo and black rhino -- move free and wild, and are yours to discover on foot or by 4 X 4 on game drives, but always under the guidance of experienced and passionate naturalist guides. Sabi Sabi’s relationship with local communities serves as a model for proactive sustainable tourism projects in the region. A stay at Sabi Sabi brings much in return – grand wildlife encounters, sincere interaction with local people, and a deeper understanding of conservation.
As Sabi Sabi’s flagship property, Bush Lodge embodies all the attributes of a luxury lodge, with attention to detail and service, yet is full of character and utterly charming. Traditional African in its decor, each of the 25 suites looks out onto the ‘real’ Africa with sweeping views across the bushveld. The main area consists of a network of large wooden decks that serve as viewing platforms for wildlife – an activity that guests can do even in the pool! Dinners are often served under the stars, with the sounds of the African night as background music.
