Rosewood Suites at Trinity
Location
Trinity, Newfoundland
Located in the heart of the historic bayside town of Trinity, this boutique inn occupies a restored heritage building dating to 1910. Originally intended to serve as a railroad hotel, the building was repurposed into a two-family dwelling when the Bonavista Line was not extended into Trinity proper. Over the years it has also housed a general store, hair salon, bar, and ultimately, hotel guests. In 2015, new owners obtained Heritage Status for the building and embarked on an exhaustive renovation, tapping award-winning architects to modernize the interior while preserving its historic character.
Beyond the white picket fence and rocking chairs on the broad front porch, guests are welcomed into a quaint lobby decorated with classic furniture, historic photographs and local art. Outside, a stone path leads to a raised deck with tables and chairs and glimpses of the nearby bay.
The inn features nine suites spread across three stories accessed by stairs, each bearing the name of a local tree such as birch, larch or spruce. Each unique suite is designed to evoke early 20th-century charm with hardwood floors, solid wood doors, historic photographs, thick rugs and handmade quilts. Depending on the suite, beds are either a queen, king, or two twins that can be combined, and come dressed in crisp premium linens. Spacious living areas offer ample room for a sofa and kitchenette. En suite bathrooms include high-quality scent-free toiletries. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, TV, ceiling fans, blackout curtains, a coffee and tea station, hair dryer and ironing boards.
