Our Maine coast adventure begins at the conveniently located Residence Inn Bangor, enjoying in an optimal spot downtown near Bass Park and the Penobscot River just 10 minutes from the airport. Apartment-style suites offer room to spread out, incorporating clean lines and contemporary furnishings in earth tones accented with bright orange and yellow. Spacious suites have a living/sitting room with sofa and work desk, full kitchen with dining table, and a sleeping area with one king or two queen beds. Bathrooms have walk-in showers and hair dryers. Amenities include air conditioning, high-speed Internet, cable/satellite LED TV with premium movie channels, and a coffee/tea maker. Time permitting, swim in the indoor pool, soak in the jacuzzi, or visit the 24-hour fitness center.

Our group welcome dinner is served in a private room in the hotel's Timber Kitchen & Bar. reflecting design influences from the city's 19th-century past as the "lumber capital of the world." The space exudes rustic ambience in every detail, from walls covered in handcrafted millwork to leather chairs and booths upholstered in red plaid flannel. The menu highlights local ingredients that are seasonally "foraged, farmed and fished."
