Pachira Lodge is situated just five minutes from the extraordinary Tortuguero National Park, and right across the main canal facing the town of Tortuguero. Surrounded by a network of the scenic canals that characterize this wildlife haven, Pachira offers a perfect home base for our explorations by boat and on foot. Pachira is the newest lodge in this region, and its warm and welcoming atmosphere is apparent upon arrival. Each of its 34 comfortable rooms has two double beds, a private bathroom, and ceiling fan. Bamboo furniture adds to the cheerful ambience, and an appropriately turtle-shaped pool beckons after a day of exploration.

We board a boat for trips through the serpentine canals of Tortuguero National Park, looking for abundant wildlife. We may also explore the forest surrounding the lodge on foot. Tortuguero offers perhaps the best opportunity in Costa Rica to view abundant wildlife at close range.
