Tucked inside a community-run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve, Nari Pools Tented Camp is an authentic expedition camp that grounds you in the true essence of a traditional safari. During days out on this lush landscape that has year-round water, you’ll seek out lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe by mokoro and game drive. At night, settle into the your lantern-lit Meru-style tent where the beds are deep and soft and the water bottles are warm. Designed to be mobile between seasons, this camp with just eight tents is brand new and ours alone—a quiet, intimate experience in genuine African wilderness. Thick Oriental carpets and wooden furnishings evoke the safaris of a century gone by, and each tent has en suite bathroom with a flush toilet and bucket shower. Dine outdoors in elegance under starry skies, complete with table linens and candle light.
