Landhotel
Spacious rooms feature twin beds that can be combined into a king, a lounge area with desk, and broad windows with breathtaking views. With a minimalist Icelandic aesthetic, the rooms pair mid-century furniture with clean lines, earthy colors and light wood for a contemporary yet cozy feel. Bedside tables have USB outlets and reading lights, and each room has a clothing rack, luggage stand and blackout curtains. En suite bathrooms feature rain and hand-held showers, hair dryers and premium bathing products.
Start the morning with a bountiful breakfast buffet where you’ll find Icelandic skyr, fresh-baked pastries and myriad savory options. For dinner at Tindur, the on-site restaurant, enjoy a mélange of vegetarian, fish and meat options like lemon sole, lamb filet or duck gyoza dumplings.
Built from CLT timber units and clad in aluminum for premium insulation, the Landhotel is as eco-friendly as it is welcoming. Powered exclusively with geothermal energy and with a rigorous recycling program, the hotel eschews plastic products and aggressively recycles in-house and guest-produced waste. To-go lunchboxes, straws and cups are made with recyclable paper. Motion sensor, energy-efficient lighting ensures that corridors and common areas are well-lit when necessary and otherwise neutral. With limited exterior lighting, the Landhotel offers uninterrupted views of the night sky and is one of the best places to view the aurora borealis when weather conditions permit.
