Lamanai Outpost Lodge
Location
Orange Walk Town, Belize
Lamanai Outpost Lodge enjoys a blissfully remote location on the banks of a 28-mile-long spring-fed lagoon amid the remnants of Lamanai, once one of the most important cities in the Maya empire. One of the top ecolodges in Belize, Lamanai Outpost is surrounded by a diverse mosaic of habitats that facilitate unsurpassed nature-based activities right from your cabana’s doorstep. Accommodations are in 20 double cabanas, most configured with one queen-size bed and one double bed. All have private baths with hot and cold running water. Cabanas also contain a mini-fridge, plenty of shelves and storage space, and a private veranda. While the cabanas do not have air conditioning, natural ventilation is excellent. All cabanas have high-output ceiling fans, and a prevailing breeze brings cooling air off the lagoon. The restaurant regularly receives outstanding praise from guests and serves three meals a day, including a varied breakfast buffet and set menus for lunch and dinner. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. A coffee, tea and cocoa bar is available from 4:30 am to 8:00 pm each day.
