Kwihala Camp
Location
Ruaha National Park, Tanzania
Kwihala Camp enjoys a superb location near the river where wildlife congregates, with a close-up vantage point on the comings and goings of a multitude of animals. Just six safari tents offer simple luxury in this unmatched setting. Situated far from other camps in Ruaha, you will see little if any human activity, for an exclusive opportunity to absorb the wild. Vehicle drives or walking safaris on foot reveal exciting wildlife encounters in a region renowned for its concentrations of predators and big game. But you need not even move from camp, as animals often pass through Kwihala, which is directly exposed to its natural environs. Guest tents are spacious yet understated, blending harmoniously with the landscape. Each has an en suite bathroom with flush toilet and traditional safari bucket shower. Cool water is available for refreshment during the day, while hot showers are provided each evening (or on request at any time). The mess tent with lounge and dining area is the social heart of the camp, and the campfire and outside dining table are often the site of engaging conversation. At night the public areas are illumined primarily by lantern and firelight, however the guest tents have solar-generated electricity for lighting and the recharging of camera batteries.
