This Masai-owned property is set on the hillside of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, overlooking vast banana plantations and Masai villages below. Separate luxury thatched bungalows, each with private facilities and a verandah with wonderful views, accommodate us and offer privacy. A pool overlooking the escarpment and an open dining area add to the open nature of this lovely property. The Masai presence provides a rare cultural interaction and locals take us on scenic walks to waterfalls and, if desired, to the rim of the escarpment. We use this lodge as a base for Lake Manyara safaris.
